(0.8789)   I understand that there may be a link between female hormones and meningiomas. Is the relationship understood at this time? Where can I go to find out more information? Should I take birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy since I have had a meningioma?

(0.8660)   I had a benign meningioma removed in March, 2002. Are there any medications that I shoud not take? I have allergies, and cannot seem to get a response from my physician(s). One doctor told me I should not take decongestants. I am not on any other medications.

  (0.8658)   Are meningiomas hereditary?

(0.8656)   My father was diagnosed with a benign Meningioma four years ago. He underwent brain surgery, gamma knife, radiation, chemotherapy, and clinical trial drugs. About three months ago, we found out that it turned into malignant, aggressive Meningioma. He just had two brain surgeries in the past 3 months and he is experiencing many problems. The tumors are so big they are growing out of his head. Plus, he had two blood clots in his brain, gets seizures, has memory loss, cannot walk, and a lot of other things. Now, the doctors saw some spots in his lungs and we will get the results of that soon. I just want someone to tell me why this happens. I want to know about the neurons, the cells, the dendrites, anything you can tell me that would make me understand how all this happens. I am 19 years old, and I would like to know if this could be passed to me and if I should go see a specialist or something.

(0.8512)   Can you tell me what the best treatment is for a Meningioma tumor in the optic sheath?

(0.8351)   After a meningioma is removed, can a person suffer with the inability to control their temper, even in the slightest of situations? It passes very quickly.

(0.8351)   I've had a meningioma removed twice, once in 1997 and again in 2005. It has been a little over a year now, and my right leg is weak, which it was not until recently, and I often fall down if I am not careful. Why is this coming to light so long after the last surgery?

(0.8351)   Can pregnancy cause meningiomas to grow faster?

(0.8351)   My mother and her mother died from Glioblastoma, both were 64 years of age. I had surgery to remove a meningioma at age 50. What are my chances of have another meningioma or possibly glioblastoma ?

(0.8347)   My boyfriend has demanded that we get married. He is 36 years old and I am 37 years old. He had surgery for a meningioma four years ago (behind the left eye). I would like to know how many years he has left to live? Also, can he have natural sexual relations and can he have a healthy baby?

(0.8347)   What is a meningioma and can it affect behavior?

(0.8347)   I am doing a book and I was surfing the web to get information about meningiomas. I would really like to get in touch with a doctor who specializes in these tumors. I want to get a step-by-step of the process that a patient would go through. I would appreciate any referral information that you can offer.

(0.8169)   I have recurrent meningioma, in the parietal lobe (grade 3), partly excised for the third time, am awaiting radiotherapy (post surgery), and very nervous about long term side effects. Will it be worth going through the therapy, and could it give me a few good years, or will it increase my chance of getting further cancers?

(0.8169)   I have been diagnosed with an 7 mm meninginoma on the right anterior falx of my brain and suffer from extreme migranes with no relief from medications. I am waiting to get an appointment with a neurosurgeon. What should I expect as treatment options?

(0.8169)   What are the short term and long term potential side effects of gamma knife to a cerebellar meningioma (residual from surgery 7 months ago)? They can grow back even if they get it all out?

(0.8169)   I had a tumor resected which was an atypical meningioma. Though this was 100% removed, the doctors say that it is better to have radiosurgery so that all the cells in this location will be killed. I am ready to go for this, but I am afraid of the side effects. I have heard that in the long-term, the part where the the brain was treated might get damaged. The tumor was right above the speech area of my brain. I am afraid that my speech area might get damaged if I have this treatment. After the surgery i was not able to speak due to swelling. But now i am able to speak abt 80% and i know that i will be fine in a few days. because i can see the changes in my speech. Will you please give your comments regarding the radio surgery.

(0.8164)   I have had 6 surgeries in less than 2 years since they told me I had a meningioma. I am blind in one eye, still have severe headaches (in new places), balance issues, and my depression is getting very bad. I feel like nothing will ever be the same again and hate myself for feeling this way. How long does it take before you start feeling like a normal person again or will I have to deal with these issues for the rest of my life?

(0.8164)   I had a fall from a building (12 metres) with a head impact. Three years later, I was diagnosed with a 2 cm meningioma. Are there any case histories suggesting that head trauma can cause the formation of meningiomas?

(0.8164)   I have been diagnosed with a 2 cm suprasellar meningioma above my pituitary, pressing on the optic nerve. I have lost peripheral vision on both sides. What are my treatment options?

(0.8164)   What are the chances of a benign meningioma recurrence? I had surgery one year ago to remove two of these tumors from my left frontal lobe and still have some swelling above my left cheek which I am concerned about; but more concerned about tumors growing back!

(0.8164)   I have been dizzy. One time, I was very dizzy and I felt like I was pulled down to the floor and could not see. It was 3 to 5 minutes before this went away. Is this normal? I have 2 meningiomas, one frontal and one in the back of my head. I also am having a hard time staying asleep.

(0.7967)   I am researching treatment for the following condition for my husband - spinal tumor having been treated by: Surgery - Atypical meningioma WHO grade II C2-C4 - 2001 Conventional Radiotherapy (54 Gy) 2003 Surgery 2008 Surgery 2009 Cyberknife July 2009 - (CK 4404; volume 2.6; D = 16 Gy (70%) Brian has just had an MRI which has shown an increase in the size of the tumor. Previous scans following Cyberknife showed no increase in size and then a small reduction. We now have a growth with little options left. Could REOLYSIN be an option even if on trial? Any help would be appreciated. We feel that time is running out.

(0.7967)   My wife has 3 meningioma brain tumors, one of these is a brainstem tumor. She has severe tremors in her right hand and right leg. Is there any medication to help reduce these tremors.

(0.7967)   Are brain tumors heriditary? My father and grandfather both died of brain tumors but I don~t know what kind.

(0.7967)   My 39-year-old, mentally challenged loved one had a meningioma removed, successfully, two weeks ago. Ten days later, he suffered two seizures. Is this fairly normal, as the neurosurgeon asked us if he had had seizures immediately after surgery. He is being treated with antiseizure medication; however, his speech seems to be slurred and he repeats himself. Could that possibly be from medication, or is it from the seizure itself?
