Treatment Name: "Head Start" chemotherapy protocol for children less than 10 years old with newly diagnosed high grade primary brain tumors with intent to eliminate irradiation and abbreviate total duration of treatment to 6 months with resultant improved cure rate and quality of survival.

Comments: Therapy consists of 3-5 cycles, 3 to 4 weeks apart, of intensive induction chemotherapy, followed with a single cycle of myeloblative chemotherapy and autologous stem cell rescue. Acceptable tumor types: Glioblastoma Multiforme, Anaplastic Astrocytoma, Medulloblastoma, Anaplastic Mixed Glioma, PNET Tumors, Atypical Teratoid / Rhaboid Tumors, Choroid Plexus Carcinoma, Ependyoma
